Tasks
Tasks: fields, priorities, estimates, identification, status lifecycle, relations, subtasks, and sharing.
Tasks are the foundational unit of work in Hypertask.
Task Fields
- Title: Brief work summary
- Description: Rich HTML content with formatting, images, code blocks
- Ticket number: Auto-generated ID in format PROJ-123
- Priority: Urgent, High, Medium, Low, or None (default)
- Estimate: T-shirt sizing (XS=minutes, S=under hour, M=few hours, L=full day, XL=multiple days, XXL=week+, XXXL=needs subtasks)
- Due date: Task deadline
- Labels: Colored categorization tags
- Assignees: Responsible team members (multiple allowed)
- Followers: Notification recipients (auto-added via @mentions)
- Attachments: Files attached to task, comments, or description
- Subtasks: Nested child tasks with full task capabilities
Task Identification
Three ways to reference tasks: Task ID (global unique like 42), ticket number (human-readable like HYP-123), or project + index combination.
Status Lifecycle
Normal (active on board) > Archived (removed but searchable) > Deleted (soft delete, recoverable).
Relations
Tasks connect via RelatedTo, BlockedBy, and BlockedTo relationships. Links are bidirectional.
Task Sharing
Public links enable external sharing with expiration dates and read-only access options.
